Pet ownership is the number one "stress buster"?![]() A man is shown walking his Hungarian Water Dogs, also known as a Pulis This photo was taken by Mi-Ling during a visit to New York City. Owning pets has been shown to actually help lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Walking your dog can be a great way to get out and get exercise. Pets can even help with social networking. When we're out walking, having a dog can make you more approachable and give people a reason to stop and talk. If you don't already have a pet, consider adopting a homeless pet and get out and enjoy some outdoor activities. Contact your local shelter for more information about adopting a pet.
